Developed and patented by BALL Watch, the A-PROOF® device is a completely new approach to the protection of a mechanical movement. In collaboration with its network of leading Swiss industrial partners in the watchmaking and microtechnology fields, BALL Watch carefully selected mumetal – a material never before used in watchmaking – for the development of its new anti-magnetic protection device. This alloy has anti-magnetic properties which are markedly superior to those of the above-mentioned soft iron and is used to manufacture magnetic shields for industry, research or high technology. Mumetal protects a mechanical watch against magnetic fields up to an astonishing record intensity of 80,000A/m.
